SALBOND SANT (Fibre)
E.GLASS FIBRE & CARBON FIBRE SHEET FOR STRUCTURAL STRENGTHENING The maintenance, rehabilitation and upgrading of existing structural members are perhaps the most crucial problems in civil engineering today. Reinforced Concrete structures deteriorate for many reasons, such as corrosion of internal reinforcement, chloride attack and freezing and thawing action. Poor initial design and construction faults also render existing RC structures deficient, all create a need for structural strengthening of concrete. Historically this strengthening has been done by conventional means, such as section enlargement, external post-tensioning, and steel-plate bonding. However, more and more engineers are turning to fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) materials for concrete strengthening, repair, and retrofitting.
